If
you are interested in conservation issues or want to get
involved in outdoor, physical tasks there are several
opportunities for volunteers to carry out practical work to
improve the environment.
A
number of groups hold activity days on various weekdays and/or
weekends. Volunteers work in teams at different sites
across Wirral helping to plant trees, clear ponds, maintain
heathlands, work on footpaths, etc. This kind of
volunteering does not necessarily need regular commitment and
can be done every now and then to suit the individual.
If
you want experience in environmental project work there are
opportunities for volunteers to work with schools or local
communities helping to organise community events, produce
newsletters and educational packs as well as carry out practical
project work.
