     Driving and Escorting

There are a number of organisations across Wirral who use volunteer rivers to transport clients to hospital appointments or to and from day centres or after school clubs.

Any volunteer who uses their own vehicle will receive a mileage allowance.  If you do not want to use your own car, you may want to consider driving for an organisation that has their own minibus, car or van.  No special licence is required but drivers generally need to be between 25 and 70 years old and possess a full, clean driving licence.

If you are not keen on driving, you may want to act as an escort, helping people to get on and off a minibus safely.
