There
are many organisations across Wirral who work with children of
different ages and volunteers help at playgroups, primary
schools, after schools clubs, holiday playschemes and
Brownies/Cubs groups.
If
you are interested in working with pre-school children you could
help at a playgroup or creche getting involved with play and
arts and crafts activities. Helping with school age
children might involve working in a primary school assisting in
the classroom or at an after school club. Playschemes
operate throughout the year during term-time and daytime during
the holidays. Volunteers help with sports, play and arts
activities.
If
you are interested in helping children with special needs you
could get involved in helping at special playschemes, schools or
families projects. If you are considering working with
children you should be aware that police checks are usually
necessary before you can start your voluntary work.
