If
you have an interest or skills in arts, crafts, design, music,
drama and creative writing, then there are many organisations
that would love to hear from you. Day centres, youth
groups, hospitals and hospices and clubs for people with
disabilities all run therapeutic arts and crafts sessions.
Volunteers don't need to have any particular skills, just a
willingness to get involved. If you have special interest
that you could share with others, you could become a volunteer
tutor helping at a hospital computer class, a life-skills
programme for young people or "Active Age" sessions
for older people.
Drama
enthusiasts can get involved with youth theatres working with
young dramatists or if you like working behind the scenes,
volunteers are often needed to help with all aspects of a
production. Creative writers can help organisations with
their publicity work assisting with newsletters and writing
articles.
